As one of the many things I love about Stampin’ Up! is the ease of colour coordination, in 50 gorgeous colours. I don’t think any other company offers such a coordinated palette 🥰
Stampin’ Up! group the colours in families, Brights, Regals, Neutrals and Subtles. My blog series is following the rainbow that I store my inks and cardstock in.
This week I am showcasing Balmy Blue, one of our Subtles family members.
The second of our range of blues, I find its great for skies. I used our largest Watercolour brush to create this sky and added Tahitian Tide to Balmy Blue with varying amounts of water to create the wash effect.

For this card I coordinated Balmy Blue with Mint Macaron. I added a bow in the Metallic Mesh ribbon.
All Stampin’ Up colours come in ink and cardstock. They feature in a selection of Designer Series Papers, including the family. Coastal Cabana is also in the watercolor 2 pencil selection and is available in Blends Pens.
This card uses the watercolor pencils, Balmy Blue has been used in the window and graduated with Pacific Point. For this card I didn’t add water to the pencil colouring 🥰
Designer Series Paper (DSP) or patterned papers are a great way to bring a mix of colours to your projects.
Balmy Blue has some great embellishments too and a gorgeous ribbon to complete your projects
If you have a limited range of inks, whether its space or finances that constrain you, we aren’t all lucky enough to have all the colours! (that’s mainly SU demos)
I would always suggest investing in inks that go with papers you have (or are investing in) along with cardstock and also getting blends pens if available.
This range of coordination make creating projects simpler, you really don’t have to worry about mismatched colours.
