Hi! How are you? Thank you for being here.
I cant quite believe we are past mid May already. Stampin’ Up!’s new annual catalogue is nearly 3 weeks old and I am excited to share the floating frame technique with you today. Its a two cards in one technique, and does require you have a Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine (or similar)
This technique creates really impressive looking cards, a technique I had forgotten about!
This card features the die and punch set Flowers of Friendship, punches make creating floating frame cards a quicker process. These cards feature the Fine Art Designer Series Papers and Stampin Up! inks and cardstock in Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron.
The image shows how you can create two cards from one sheet by using the outer frame and the the inner, above the inner piece has been rotated, I think you can see how it matches if you look?
I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the centre and the sentiment piece on the left (you could also use Stitched rectangles). The Sentiment on the right uses the Everyday Label punch.

You do need Glad Press n Seal because it is stickier, which I buy from Amazon – you really won’t need more than a single 70ft roll for crafting! Though, I personally find Press n Seal much better, as it is stickier, than our UK cling film products! Who new kitchen tips came free with a card making blog.
The second card in the technique used the new Hand-Penned Petals stamp set – which I adore! The set has a very casual feel as there is not an exact match with the infill stamp. I actually used multiple shades on some of the flowers, shifting the stamp slightly to create a varied look. When you stamp with Hand-Penned please do have a play around and let your creativity shine though.
Check our my week of Facebook Lives to see how versatile it is, 11th, 12th and 13th May 2021.
I used Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. The leaves are in Mossy Meadow. I cut the centre piece out with the Layering Circles dies.
As a picture says 1000 words and a video a million(made that up) click this image to see the video tutorial for the two Hand-Penned Petals floating frame cards.
