I hope you well and looking forward to reading my blog, thank you for being here.

Today I am showing you the Snailed it! stamp set and papers along with an added technique. I will guide you through how to recreate using the same technique.

The first card features Stampin’ Up!s’ Real Red ink and card-stock with a card-base in Stampin’ Up!s’ Blushing Bride. The larger mushrooms are cut from one of the Snail Mail designer Series paper (DSP) sheets.

The card front is mounted onto the card-base using a piece of Stampin’ Up! Foam Sheet, you could also use dimensional’s. My preference is the foam sheet for this type of layer as I can cut the foam to the best size.

I also added one of the snails to the envelope. Your recipient then knows there is something special inside that envelope.

The second card I am showing you features Stampin’ Up!’s Daffodil Delight and some water colouring.

As I knew I was going to watercolour the snail I stamped the image with Staz on ink. Using the alcohol based ink when water colouring means there is no bleed of the image. As you can see I also added a snail to the inside layer in the card.

I added paint splashes over the card using my water brush and a bone folder. The masking technique I used to create the background behind the snail is detailed below the image!

The Forever Gold Speciality paper has many uses to adorn cards, I also love the larger pieces as a mask.

To recreate this first stamp your image, in this case a snail, onto a post it note, ensuring the sticky piece is included, cut closely around the image thereby making your mask with a sticky edge.

I then stamp the image onto the card and placed the mask over it, then the piece from Forever Greenery is layered over that (see image below). A Stampin’ Up! Blending brush is then used to gently add the ink, using a circling motion. When finished lift both masks and Voila!

Thank you for reading, I hope you try the set and/or the technique. I hope to see you again soon.
