Ideas and inspiration to inspire you

So, I ordered Color & Contour – now what?

How is July treating you? Time is flying by for me, is it the same for you? ? This week I received my Stampin' Up! seasonal catalogue pre-order. As a result, you can look forward to seeing new products over the coming weeks ? Amongst my pre-order was Stampin' Up!s Colour and Contour bundle from the annual catalogue. When I get a new set I do like to get it all out (yes, my desk gets messy) and play! I try not to look for inspiration anywhere unless I feel a creative block. So this blog is my...

Pansy Petal Suite – first play

Hello again, I hope you are well! I love playing with new product. I always start in the Stampin Up! catalogue, this suite is on pages 28/29, page 28 is a page of inspiration. So use it! A set of dies that cuts out the images from the designer series paper (DSP) is always a winner in my eyes. This card is made with die cut and fussy cut images from the papers. The only stamping is the sentiment! Featured colours are Stampin Up! Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss. The Ombre Gift Bags in the new...

How to create a card with Dragonfly Garden

Hello! How are you? Life is definitely speeding up, so my crafting and Stampin' Up! have become even more important. I love the space I create for myself to craft. This card was made on a Facebook Live, one where I had no idea other than to use the Dragon Fly Bundle (10% off bundles) and the Stampin' Up! Subtle colour palate along with Vellum, Pearlescent speciality paper and Rainbow Glimmer paper... Vellum adds an ethereal look to the Dragonfly above, I used blending brushes to add Soft Sea...

Card making techniques – alcohol inks backgrounds

Hello again, thank you for popping by, this is the first of my blogs to introduce techniques. As the title says this week I show you alcohol inks backgrounds. Let me know in the comments what techniques you would like to know more about. The first card is CASE'd (copy and share everything) from the catalogue, an amazing resource for inspiration. The two backgrounds are from one background, made to look completely different by using different accent colours. Calypso Coral on the left and...

Chocolate, Coffee, Cocktails or Cookies?

Hello, thanks for reading my blog, did the title make you wonder? Do you have a favourite, one you can't manage without? For me it would be coffee! My favourite Nescafe Alta Rica. I used Early Expresso, Cinnamon Cider, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake. This card used the stamp set only with a sentiment inside from Happiest of Birthdays. I think it's a great card to add a voucher from a coffee shop to. Cocktails are a must for me on a birthday! My favourite cocktail is an Aperol Spritz. What's yours?...

No plants were harmed in the making of these cards

I, for one cannot keep a house plant alive, so I knew I was safe with the Bloom Where You're Planted suite! This suite caught my eye immediately. Its so different from anything else we have. The DSP (patterned papers lists all the co ordinating colours. This means its simple to coordinate your projects. I used the Biggest Wish sentiments on these two cards, I love the two sizes of sentiment and layering them. I find a jaunty angle helps cover up any mis aligning of your sentiment. I am all for...

How to make gift boxes

Well, the end of May is nearly here already! I have some lovely plans for this UK Bank Holiday and hope you do too. It looks like the weather is playing ball for this one! This blog is focussing on gift boxing, 3 styles, one using designer series paper only. All these projects use the Hand-Penned DSP. The pyramid box is made with a piece of DSP made into a cylinder and glued at one end, the other end is held by clever clasps and is sealed the opposite way to the glued end! if this makes no...
